First Update:

Message from Maureen regarding her mother, former class member Jane Boyd.

Could I ask y'all to please keep Mom in your prayers today? (Tuesday) We're
returning to the wound center where her chest incision open wound is being
treated (for 2 wks. now) on Tues, three days ahead of her appt., because she is
in "such agony" in her chest, and her back. The dr. this past Friday enlarged
the wound (ie. numbed it and made the opening larger with a scalpel) so it could
be packed daily with gauze, to help keep it drier, I

think, from all the secretions. It has given her a fit since ~ extreme bright
redness, a great deal of swelling, especially on one side, and much pain. It
always hurts, but the pain since Fri. has alternated between bad, and awful and

debilitating. So we made an appt today to get it checked tomorrow, in case
something bad is going on. She's beginning to think her accelerated back pain
these last few months might be connected to her chest wound, and Steve actually
thinks that's very possible... << sigh >> My poor mom ~ things just seem to

keep getting worse for her. We are both very discouraged. She had a better
week two wks. ago, but last week and this week so far have been very hard. I've

tried to stay optimistic, especially around her, but I have a bad feeling about
this chest wound. We've been so excited to be going to the wound center, where
that is their specialty, and now 2 wks. in we're uncertain if this can be
resolved without more surgery, which her surgeon is very reluctant to do, which
of course makes us very nervous. Of course, it could just be that the wound has

to get worse before it starts getting better, following initial treatment. I
know some things are like that. We just weren't prepared for it to be this bad.

Anyway, I'm sure that is TMI ~ I really do appreciate you lifting her to the
Lord.

Hey, it is still Monday. So what if we all are at the Cracker Barrel enjoying a meal together before any of us read this? 5:30pm.

And, on Wednesday, some of us will meet at Andy's at Bells Fork at 5:00pm before going to bible study at church at 6:00pm.

TMBC Softball (3W;3L) will play on Tuesday night at 9:00pm (Reedy Branch) at Winterville. And, on Friday night at 8:00pm (Black Jack).

Food Pantry will be open on Tuesday from 1:30 - 3:30pm.

There will be a Love Collection for Randy McKinney starting now and running for several weeks. Contributions to this Clearing Account are not deductible (since a person is named) but contributing through TMBC will allow the amounts to gather and then be shared with Randy.

There will also be a reception in his honor and in appreciation for his ministry with TMBC on Sunday, August 15, 2010. Look for more details to follow.
