Progressive Week February 8, 2010 7 Months ago
Late Week Update:

Lynda Walker Freeman Tom is recovering from a bleeding ulcer at PCMH. Baby James is improving from pneumonia but is still in the UNC Children's Hospitai in Chapel Hill. Lynda woke up to 5 inches of snow this AM. It reminds us that we are wrapped up in God's hands and as my mother always said " it's going to all work out."

Ronnie and Beth Stephenson show details Feb 11 (1 day ago)
Connie called me this afternoon to let me know how things went with Jimmy and his appointment yesterday. She said the one thing they found out is that his defibrillator needs a new battery. So they have to be at Wake Med at 5:45 A.M. tomorrow (Friday) to have that replaced. The plan is for them to go to Duke Sunday for the testing that needs to be done so that he can get on the transplant list. They decided to get a motel room for the week so they would not have to travel back and forth for the testing. The big days of testing are Tuesday when he has a catheterization (right and left heart) and Friday when he has a colonoscopy.
She said the MD at Wake Med felt that Jimmy should continue with the transplant process. It is still a very long process. Connie said it will take at least a month to gather all the test results. So she isn't real sure when he will actually get on "the" list. They were both encouraged by the Wake Med MD. There are still many things left to consider. She said she had 23 pages of questions to answer as the "caregiver" for Jimmy. Of course there are the financial considerations. She does continue to ask that we pray for them as they continue into this unknown area for both of them. And I know you are continuing to do just that! Beth

Mid-Week Update:

James Freeman Asbell, aged 9 months, grandson of Tom and Linda Freeman is in ICU with pneumonia. He is at pediatric hospital in Chapel Hill. He is being nourished via IV and also receiving oxygen. James was also hospitalized about two weeks ago at Wake Medical. Charles and Linda Asbell, members of Immanuel, are his other grand-parents.

From Linda Parker:

Shan has posted a new update. Remember do not hesitate to log on. Duke Hospital will not compromise your email address or password. For those of you trying to call me, I am not ignoring you.....it's just my cell phone signal does not get through the dense woods of Shan's property. We have also been away from her home phone. Lloyd and I continue to pace ourselves as needed. He has been a mountain of strength throughout all this. Please continue to pray for us. This power has provided the strength.
