We are planning another Genealogy get together on Monday, October 26 at 6:00. These are very relaxed get togethers to share sources, cool finds, help anyone with dead ends, and help those who just getting started. We hope to see you.

Genealogy is not just names and birth dates. Genealogy is made up of stories, places, and occupations. There are census reports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, military records, newspaper articles and so much more. You can sometimes not only find your ancestors, you can get to know them too. There is a lot to learn from census reports alone. Though the questions vary from year to year, census reports can tell you where your ancestors were born, if they owned or rented property, or if they could read and write. One census asked if they had a radio.
